Bethlehem's Congregation Life Ministries

Discipleship

The mission of Bethlehem Lutheran Church is centered our calling to grow disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ. As individuals, families and as a church community, we seek to grow deeper in our love of and service to the Lord. To enable this lifelong journey of faith development, we teach and encourage everyone, no matter their age or experience, to grow in the classic spiritual disciplines:

  • Regular worship
  • Fervent prayer
  • Faithful study of scripture
  • Compassionate serving
  • Generous giving
  • Supportive fellowship

We have also developed a specific guide to encourage each person to make these disciplines part of their daily life. We call this guide our Discipleship Covenant. This is not meant to be a list of minimum requirements for church membership. Rather it is a picture of what a disciple at Bethlehem looks like and is a challenge for each of us to grow our faith in particular and specific ways. It is also mindful that our faith grows stronger when we journey together. If you would like to see our vision of discipleship, click here.
