March 26, 2017. Why do we call the main character in last weekend’s Gospel “the man born blind”? Why not “the man who Jesus heals”, or even better, “the man who teaches us how to see Jesus”?
The fact is that we’re telling stories about each other every moment of every day. We see someone do something, or hear someone say something, and without thinking we’ve told ourselves a story about why he or she did that. The only way to not get trapped by these stories is to ask for the truth. When we take that time, suddenly a whole new world of possibilities is open to us.
