Dee Johnson

I grew up on a farm in Iowa and am a lifelong Lutheran. I attended Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, for two years, and then transferred to the University of Pennsylvania where I earned a BA in English in 1975. I worked as an editor for a few years before returning to Penn to get my MBA from the Wharton School in 1981. I married Michael Johnson, who taught physics and astronomy, in 1977.  We moved to Columbus, Indiana, where I worked for 19 years for Cummins Engine Company in corporate finance and investor relations (IR). I subsequently worked for two St. Louis companies, Belden Inc., and Viasystems Group, Inc., as director and vice president of IR. I became a widow in 2007. I joined Bethlehem in 2012, drawn by the music program, the preaching, and the congregation’s involvement with the community. I have been involved with the Senior Choir, Abigail Circle, and the LWR quilting project. I also served as a member of the Stewardship New Ventures Team in 2013-2014. I have three adult daughters living in Rockford, IL, St. Louis, MO, and Malden, MA.
