Meet our Pastors

Pastor Mark H. Larson
Senior Pastor

Pastor Mark
LarsonPastor Mark started his service as Senior Pastor at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in December of 2004. He is most passionate about guiding Bethlehem towards fulfilling its vision of being a community of disciples, not just members.  Central to his vision is that each one of us is blessed with unique gifts, skills, and experiences that we’re called to nurture to their fullest and invited to share with each other.  Pastor Mark truly believes that our personal service to Jesus Christ grows most fully when we walk in faith together.

In his Welcome Letter and Welcome Video, Pastor Mark shares his passion for welcoming people into our Bethlehem community. Click here to learn more about Pastor Mark's background on his biography.

Pastor Sarah Rohde

Associate Pastor

Pastor SarahA Midwesterner at heart, Pastor Sarah came into the world in a small, rural town in South Dakota, and lived her childhood years in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and New Ulm, Minnesota. Her father, Paul, currently serves as campus pastor at Augustana College in Sioux Falls. Sarah’s mother, Susan, teaches elementary school music and also leads worship music at their home congregation. Pastor Sarah is the eldest of three sisters. Anna teaches high school English; Inga works with the L’Arche community in Tacoma.

Pastor Sarah delights in music, culture, and big questions. These passions led her to study piano, religion, and Spanish at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota.  After college, she served in Cuernavaca, Mexico through the ELCA’s “Young Adults in Global Mission” Program.

She is a recent graduate of the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago, and is married to Andrew Packman, a doctoral student of theology at the University of Chicago Divinity School and an ordained pastor in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

Pastor Sarah is an avid runner and outdoor enthusiast, loves to bake bread, cherishes hand-written letters and loves sharing conversation over a good cup of espresso.
