Director's Newsletter
Pray to me, and I will answer you.

Dear Parents,
Happy New Year to all of you! I hope that this newsletter finds you healthy and happy! May your new year be filled good health, happiness and prosperity! It is so wonderful to see the children back and smiling! We’ve missed them these past two weeks.
At the Preschool, we are excited about all that is planned for the upcoming year! First of all, Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the Preschool would like to thank all the families that donated towards the Hesed House “Giving Tree” . We collected over 120 hats, gloves, socks, mittens, and scarves for them. Your gift of generosity is truly appreciated by us and by the families in need.
Half-Day Preschool re-enrollment forms will be sent home on Monday, January 9th for all the 3’s. You have until Friday, January 20th to return your form and the $60 re-enrollment fee. Siblings/alumni/church members can register beginning January 23rd. The general public registration will start on Monday, January 30th. Please let me know if you have questions. I would like to remind you once again about our Referral Program. If you refer a family and they enroll, you will receive a voucher good for a $100 credit towards your child’s tuition. Since September, we have rewarded eight families with vouchers! Congratulations and thank you!
Please pass the word to neighbors and friends that we do still have immediate openings in our 3’s and 4’s morning classes. In addition, we are also accepting tours for the 2012-2013 school year. They can call us at 630-584-6027 to register or to schedule a tour.
We hope that many of you have had a chance to spend some time in your child’s classroom by now. It gives you such a good window into your child’s day at Bethlehem. Remember our Open Door Policy—you are always welcome even if you don’t have an official “job” such as journaling. Just let your child’s teachers know.

Please remember that we take the children out everyday as long as the temperature is not below 10degrees including the wind chill or if it is actively raining. Children should have boots, snow pants, hats, gloves/mittens every time they are at school. Since many items look similar, we would appreciate it if you can label them.

Please mark your calendar for another big event coming up on Friday, March 16th—our annual Spaghetti Dinner/Silent Auction/Raffle Fundraiser Night! This special event involves the parents, church members, community, businesses, teachers and the children! This will be a night of fellowship, food, and lots of fun! There will be free face painting, tattooing, “cake walk”, and crafts for the children. If there are parents who would like to donate or know of someone who would be willing to donate a service, item, or restaurant certificate to be put in our raffle section, please let me know. This would also be a great way of advertising. We will acknowledge all businesses that support our preschool. Their names will be displayed on a big screen that night and printed on all donation lists that will be sent home prior to and during the event. The funds raised will go into our Scholarship Fund to assist families in need with their tuitions.

Closing reminder: The Center is CLOSED on Monday, January 16th in honor of Martin
Luther King Jr’s birthday. Have a fun and relaxing long weekend!
As I end this first newsletter of the year, I would like to thank all of you for your thoughtful Christmas and New Year’s wishes. I have truly been blessed to work in such a great place...where families and staff are generous and kind, and children make this the most rewarding job ever! Thank you for all those hugs and smiles!

Best Wishes Always for a Great New Year!

Happy New Year from the PRESCHOOL MINISTRY TEAM:
We are looking forward to some fun and exciting events at the Preschool in the New Year.
Our annual “On Top of Spaghetti” Dinner and Raffle/Silent Auction is soon approaching on Friday March 16th. Save the date for this fun family evening full of food, games and prizes. We are beginning to collect auction and raffle items. To make our fundraiser a success we are in need of both items for adults and children. If you have anything that you would like to donate or know of a business that would be willing to donate goods or services, please contact the Preschool at (630) 584-6027. We are also in need of volunteers for the evening and donations of desserts for the dinner and cake walk. Look for upcoming sign-up sheets in the church bulletin and by the Preschool entrance.
The Preschool Ministry Team is currently looking for new members to join our Team. We have lost a few members this past year and we are in need of some willing individuals to support the Preschool. You do not need to have a preschooler to be involved in this important ministry. If you would like more information or know of someone who would be a good fit to join our Team please contact Andrea Low at 630-402-0537/lowap@comcast.net.
