Dear Parents,

            Happy spring to you! Although I am very excited about the soon to be warmer and sunnier weather, I am sad knowing that we only have two more months left with our half-day preschool program.  The children have grown so much these past months!

What a busy and exciting month March was! Grandparent’s Week was a lot of fun. It was wonderful to meet all the special adults as they came to visit their grandchildren during class time.  Some came all the way from out of state!  About 100 grandparents visited that week. WOW! We greatly appreciate the effort each of them made to visit our preschool.  Our Spaghetti Dinner was also a BIG HIT!  The Preschool Ministry Team, the Staff, and I would like to thank everyone for their support.  The delicious variety of desserts many of you donated added much to the meal.  To each of you who donated desserts, bought tickets, helped setup, donated to the raffle/auction, or made cash donations we extend our heartfelt thanks! Including the $800 matching funds from Thrivent For Lutherans Association, we raised over $8,500 for our Scholarship Fund! The winner of  the 50/50 raffle donated her share back to us. How generous! This money will go towards our Equipment Fund. We already have plans for that money. Thank you so much for all of your support and involvement with the Preschool.  Our fundraiser was a success because of YOU! Thank you, thank you!!!

Spring Break for children in our Half-Day Preschool will start next week.  Please mark your calendar that we will be closed from March 25th until March 29th for the Half-Day Preschool programs.  All-Day Preschool will be OPEN this week. Thank you for returning the spring break attendance survey. This will help Miss Mary out a great deal as she plans her lunch and snack menu for next week.

 

PICTURE DAYS will be here in April! Please remember to turn in the flyers sent home indicating your background choice by the morning of your child’s Picture Day (April 3rd/4th). The children will be photographed individually and also together as a group in the classroom’s circle time area for their class pictures.

 

For families in our All-Day Preschool program, the staff is already working on some special activities for the summer.  Within the next two weeks, families will receive a form on which to indicate your child’s program needs for both summer and fall.  This will allow us to determine staffing needs and allow teachers to have some time off to spend with their families.  It is especially important that children attending part-time stick to their schedule unless arrangements with the Director are made ahead of time.  Children who will leave for the summer, but will return in the fall must include a $60.00 re-enrollment fee with their forms to

reserve his/her spot. 

Later in April, we will be sending home Parents’ Evaluations.  It is important that we get feedback from you to allow us to better serve you.  The classroom that has the highest percentage of evaluations returned will be able to choose between having a Pizza Party or Ice Cream Party for their classroom!  So, be on the lookout for the forms!

CLOSING REMINDER: The Center is CLOSED on Friday, March 29th for Good Friday.

We would like to send a big thank you to all who helped make the Preschool’s Annual Spaghetti Dinner/Silent Auction & Raffle Night a huge success! We could not have done it without all the volunteers who helped serve dinner, worked in the kitchen, brought desserts for dinner, made cakes and goodies for the Cake Walk, helped with the kids activities, and donated such wonderful and generous items for the raffle and auction. Thanks to all those who attended the dinner and participated in the raffle and auction. We hope you were a winner! We are so blessed to have such involved families at our Preschool. Our fundraiser was successful because of YOU!
