April 16, 2017 – Easter Sunday. The musical “Hamilton” is successful not just because it is a history lesson. It is also a commentary on contemporary social issues ranging from racism, prejudice, and power politics.  Similarly, the events of Holy Week are not just about remembering history. They wake us up to the suffering that is everywhere in our world today.  Today is Easter and we have had enough of death.  The ultimate power that Jesus gives us to address the death in our own lives and the lives of our neighbors is the power of resurrection that forgiveness can bring.
