Summer Mission Trips

New Orleans Mission Trip: July 2-9. All high school students and incoming high school freshmen are invited to attend this years mission trip where we will again be returning to New Orleans. There is still much work to be done in the Big Easy, as the area is still recovering from Hurricane Katrina. We are still seeking out adult chaperons and have plenty of space on the trip for more youth. This trip will also require a commitment to a tentative work day where we will learn basic carpentry skills. Transportation will be three 12-passanger vans, and we will likely be stopping for sleep half-way through our trip.

Cost for the trip is $400.00. Cost should never be a factor for not going! We have plenty of fundraisers available, and if further financial assistance is needed, please contact us.

We are actively seeking out father-son duos to go on this trip! Faith-based mission trips like these are a great way to connect, work together, and pass on important life skills. Please do not hesitate to contact Aaron for more information on what it means to be a chaperon for this trip.

Confirmation Trip: Sunday, June 19 - Friday, June 24, 2011. This year our summer Confirmation Trip takes us to the Quad Cities of Iowa and Illinois. Encompassing a population of over 400,000 people, this area has been hurt by the many hits industry has taken in recent economic times. It is our hope to be able to do work to help alleviate some of the many economic tensions on this area by doing rebuilding projects in the community, working with the elderly, children's projects, homeless shelters, and thrift stores in the greater QCA area.

This trip is for all Confirmation students who have finished their 7th/8th grade year of confirmation. We will be taking three vans into the Quad Cities, and will need some willing chaperons to help us drive. Cost is $300.00 and space is limited, with registration forms due ASAP! You will find registration forms in the hallway opposite Aaron's office (305) or available online through the church website or monthly youth emails.
