February 26, 2020 It might sound kind of strange to you, but as I think about all the days we celebrate or recognize as a church throughout the liturgical year, I think I would say that Ash Wednesday rises to the top as one of my favorites. It might sound odd to opt for a day of dust and repentance over the brighter, more luminous days of Easter, Christmas, or Pentecost, but on this day things get real, truths are spoken that draw me in in a way that is both difficult and also profoundly liberating.
