February 9, 2020 We are back up on the mountain with Jesus this week. Up on that mountain, where Jesus begins to reveal to the disciples their new identities–telling them who they are. Last week, we heard the beginning of Jesus’ sermon, known to many as “The Beatitudes,” and it sounded like Jesus is describing some group of people out there. Blessed are the poor, those who morn, the meek, those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, the merciful, the pure in heart, the peacemakers, and the persecuted, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven, they shall inherit the earth, they shall be satisfied, they shall receive mercy, they shall see God, and they shall be called Sons of God.
