October 25, 2020 When I saw that this would be the text for today, the day of my first sermon with you, I chuckled to myself because I know a bit about unravelling of vocation. As I’ve mentioned throughout my call process, I originally was on the pre‑med track. I wanted to be a pediatric oncologist. And yet partway through the spring semester of my junior year I felt a draw to something new. And, of course, we see today, my first Sunday preaching here at Bethlehem, the day of my ordination, what beauty that unravelling has had for me and hopefully for all of us together as church. And in the process of that, the unravelling of that vocation, I began to understand the expansiveness of what this word actually means.
