May 26, 2019 When my husband and I were first married we lived in North Bend, WA., which is near Seattle. Ruben was a youth director at Mt. Si Lutheran Church and I was a full-time student finishing up my bachelor in biblical studies at the Lutheran Bible Institute. We were blessed to spend one weekend at a retreat center called Holden Village, which you may remember hearing about because Pastor Sarah and Andrew have also been there. The weekend that Ruben and I spent at Holden we worked on a hand loom and wove this stole together. We took turns weaving and it was beautiful to see the stole take shape as thread upon thread was woven together. It really was a labor of love and now, almost 39 years later, this stole has become a symbol of the many things that have been woven into our married life together.
