LSSI Project Room At the Inn
These gifts will provide Christmas gifts to Illinois foster children who may otherwise go without. Your gift may also be used to meet critical needs that arise for children and families during the holiday season that LSSI serves. LSSI staff works closely with these families to ensure that each child has a Christmas gift, and to identify sudden and urgent needs such as a warm winter coat or a car seat.
To participate: Please choose a tag. Place the tag in an envelope or Christmas card and write a check to Bethlehem for the amount. Other donations are welcome as well. Please note LSSI on the memo line. Place the check in an envelope and put it in the donation box near the tree or offering plate. Other options to donate you can scan the QR code and pay by phone or go directly to LSSI.org/Donate and make your gift online.

Gift cards are requested from Amazon, Visa, MasterCard, Target, Meijer, Aldi and Walmart. Please bring your gift cards to the church office by Wednesday, December 15.
Also, BLC prepares a meal the 2nd Tuesday of each month for the Lazarus House community. Our next service date to provide a meal is, Saturday, December 11. To serve with Bethlehem at Lazarus House, click here.

New families and individuals are arriving daily across the Chicagoland region, with over 270 Afghan evacuees expected to be resettled by World Relief Chicago in the coming months. We will continue to see waves of people arriving over the coming weeks and months, and we invite you to get involved with this current wave of arrivals.
Some of the urgent needs this Advent season include:
- Transportation volunteers to assist with airport pickups.
- Home setup volunteers to prepare homes for arriving families.
- Items to furnish the homes of arriving families. Dressers are one of the most-needed items today. You can find a full list of items to donate online here.

Our sister ELCA congregation in West Chicago would be incredibly grateful to receive gift cards in any amount. Pastor Josh, who serves the St. Andrew community, says he receives many requests this time of year from families looking for assistance to provide resources for the purchase of clothes (winter coats, shoes, gloves), toys, food, gas, and other necessities.
Please bring your gift cards to the church office by Wednesday, December 15.
