Baptism at Bethlehem

Baptism joins us to the body of Christ and to the mission we share as followers of Jesus. At Bethlehem, we always celebrate baptism within the context of worship, as baptism is the sacrament that binds us to God and to one another! We tend to baptize infants and children, but baptism can be celebrated at all ages and stages of life.

If you would like to celebrate a baptism at Bethlehem, we invite you to take a class first. This class is taught by one of our pastors; it focuses on the meaning of baptism, and together we will walk through the details of the baptismal liturgy. This fall, there will be a baptism class on Sunday, October 10 at 10:15am. To sign up for this class, please call Melody at the church office – 630.584.2199 or email her at melody@bethlehemluth.org.

The Sundays we have set aside for the sacrament of baptism this fall are:  Sunday, Oct. 17 (9:00am worship) and Sunday, Nov. 21 (9:00am worship). We often celebrate multiple baptisms during these Sundays, so please call the church office if you’d like to schedule a baptism on one of these dates.

We look forward to celebrating the gift and promise of baptism with you!
